Thanks to our sponsor, Rocket Software, we will host our November 14 meeting at Top Golf. Register today as seats will be limited. Topic: The IBM i can (and should) be your platform for the future! Learn how you can lead the way with your IBM i by using the latest technology. In this session we will discuss how your organization can open up their options to the amazing new options the rest of IT has: Open Source like GIT and Jenkins, attracting young developers with modern languages like Node.js and Python, moving IBM i workloads to true Cloud providers to save money, making Web & Mobile modernization efforts your default UIs, and finally, live in a world of portable applications that can run on every platform. It’s not hard, and your department must consider these options that require a fraction of the investment of ‘big bang’ conversions, if they are to have the most low cost, low risk options in the future. You will leave equipped to train your business users that new experiences and modern functions are available today on your IBM i. Speaker: Dan Magid Dan Magid has decades of experience with IBM midrange systems and is a frequent speaker and writer on IBM i modernization topics. Dan began his career at IBM working with System/34s, System/36s and System/38s. He went on to become CEO of Aldon and oversaw the creation of the Aldon Change Management System (now Rocket Aldon LMi) and led its growth into the leading software change management system for IBM i. He then held several executive positions in the IBM i arena at Rocket Software before returning to the entrepreneurial world and founding Eradani. At Eradani, Dan focuses on helping IBM i organizations take advantage of all the new technology available on the IBM i.
